The DFS200 system offers a new dimension in traditional lamp control. Although they are on the same cable, each of the lamps shown above can be controlled independently. Using special lamp holders up to 100 5W lamps can be controlled on the same cable. The system facilitates large scale coordinated displays which would be impracticably complex using conventional techniques. The product has recently been improved to give full intensity control instead of the original on/of fade up, fade down control. Full control greatly simplifies integration into DMX controlled systems. The power supply has also been completely re designed giving a much lighter more compact unit with improved protection and functionality.


		HOW IT WORKS

		DFS200 LAMP UNIT

Digital festoon works by combining the power for lamps and the control data down the same wire. Each system comprises a power unit and up to 100 special lamp holders. Lamp units attach to standard 2 conductor cable. Once connected each lamp is given a unique address using the hand programmer described below. The common cable connects back to a special power unit. Once connected the system provides full individual control of each lamp. It really is that simple! No tools are required for connection as the lamp unit incorporates special cable piercing pins which cut the cables insulation and make an electrical connection without compromising insulation integrity. The maximum cable length is 100 Meters although a number of cables can be connected in parallel for a higher total length. Lamp units are suitable for use indoors or outdoors.

DFS200 lamp units looks like a normal festoon lamp sockets. Internally they include a special circuit to decode the combined power and data signal and control a single lamp. The unit connects to the cable by simply laying the cable onto the lamp unit and fitting a special securing nut. No connections are required because the lamp unit incorporates special cable piercing pins which cut through the cable insulation. Once connected the lamp unit must be given a unique address. This is achieved very simply by inserting the hand programmer where the lamp would normally fit and programming the address. The lamp can now be fitted and installation is complete. An optional surface mounting plate is available facilitating fitting to a flat surface or through panel mounting.

The DF200 power unit provides the combined power and data to control up to 100 lamp units. The system has recently been improved to give full intensity control instead of the original on/of fade up, fade down control. Full control greatly simplifies integration into DMX controlled systems. The power supply has also been downgraded to operate just 100 lamps instead of 200. This realises a much more compact and electrically robust unit.

The power unit can operate standalone playing back user generated sequences created using our ADFS software which is supplied free of charge. Alternatively the system accepts DMX data. When running from DMX each lamp occupies one DMX channel and can be fully intensity controlled like any standard tungsten fitting.

Power unit main features are described below;-

Fully independent control of up to 100 lamp units.
Operation from built in memory or DMX.
Protected from wiring faults.
When operating from memory, virtually any number of power units can be synchronized for large scale coordinated lighting displays.


		DFS200 HAND PROGRAMMER

	The hand programmer is a commissioning and maintenance tool used to program or read a given lamp units address. The programmer connects to the lamp by simply inserting into the lamp socket in place of the lamp. Once connected the lamp units address can be set or read. The whole process takes just seconds. The hand programmer can be used before or after the lamp unit is connected to the cable.
