				DFS200


	The DFS200 system offers a new dimension in traditional lamp control. Although they are on the same cable each of these lamps can be controlled independently. Using special lamp holders up to 200 5W lamps can be controlled on the same cable. This system enables large scale coordinated displays which would be impractically complex using other systems.

Digital festoon works by combining the power for lamps and the control data down a common cable. Each system comprises a power unit and up to 200 special lamp holders. Lamp units attach to standard rubber 2.5mm cable. No tools are required for connection as special cable piercing pins cut the cables insulation without compromising insulation integrity. The maximum cable length is 200 Metres. Lamp units are suitable for use indoors or outdoors.

Each lamp holder has a special electronic circuit to decode line data and control a single 5W 48V lamp. Lamp units also incorporate a filament preheater to dramatically increase lamp life in flashing applications. Each lamp can receive four commands, on, off, fade up or fade down. All lamps also receive a global fade time variable which sets the rate at which fading occurs. The ability to fade adds an extra dimension to the display. Lamps data updates 20 times a second for fast dynamic lighting displays.

To make it unique on the system each lamp unit has a unique address. This can either be pre-programmed during manufacture in which case each lamp will be supplied with an address label, or preferably, programmed on site using the DFS200 hand programmer which simply plugs into the lamp unit instead of the bulb. Programming only takes a few seconds. and can be performed before or after the lamp unit is attached to the cable.

The DF200 power unit provides the combined power and data to up to 200 lamp units. The system operate from 110 / 230VAC. The output voltage is nominal 48V and is protected against wiring faults.

The systems can operate standalone using the built in memory card with custom lighting sequences created using our powerful PC software which is supplied free of charge. Finished sequences are downloaded to the power units memory card. The system then operates standalone with no need for external DMX systems or wiring. Alternatively the power units can accept DMX data for integration into larger systems.

For larger installation requiring more than 200 lamps, simply add more lamps and power units and connect these using our unique master slave synchronizing system. The master slave system synchronizes up to 1000 power units (that’s 200,000 lamps!) even over distances of several kilometers. Each power unit will play its unique section of the lighting display and will be perfectly time coordinated with the rest of the system. Our PC software controls download of the correct section of the show to the right power unit. Once download is complete even large scale installations operate standalone with just a simple two conductor un-screened cable between power units. The lamps can be configured in strings or mounted to form matrices of any size. Our powerful software allows running text messages or moving graphics to be displayed.
